The Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB) is interested in tracking algal blooms in the watershed to assess the presence of potentially harmful cyanobacteria species that may produce toxins. From approximately April to October, EWEB takes monthly water samples from Blue River Reservoir, Cougar Reservoir, Walterville Pond, and the McKenzie at EWEB's drinking water intake.
